There will be no alternative bid for Clarity Commerce Solutions (see Another bidder for Clarity Commerce Solutions?), an outcome we thought was becoming more likely given the time it was taking to move from ‘potential’ to anything more substantial. Despite ‘advanced’ discussions, the potential bidder has not come forward with an offer and is now out of the running (barring some specific circumstances). That leaves the path open for the Enigmatic Investments’ proposal, which was recently raised by 2p per share to 25p (see here), and that shareholders have been gradually showing their support for.
The deadline for the Enigmatic offer is November 27 and now there are no obvious barriers to its progress. Assuming the deal does close, Clarity Commerce Solutions looks set to join with DigiPoS Store Solutions as the nub of a retail-specific solution set. We don’t expect this will be the last retail technology acquisition by Jon Moulton's investment vehicles, which are behind the earlier DigiPoS and pending Clarity Commerce action.
