Nightmare on the High Street revisited

Further to my recent Nightmare on the High Street post, it looks as if online sales are even more buoyant than was thought. The ONS has today revised up its retail sales figures to a reasonably good 0.7% growth in the last three months. The major reason for this was a surge in online sales – up from £546.4m in Oct 11 to £787.9m in Nov 11. In Nov 2006, online sales were about 3% of all retail sales. Now they represent around 12%.
