New leadership and new finance for Azzurri

AzzurriPrivately-held managed communications and contact centre player Azzurri has this morning announced some significant changes to the business. There’s a new CEO, a new Chairman, a new NED and a major new refinancing deal.

The incoming CEO is Vim Vithaldas. Vim was at Datapoint from 1994 to 2009, the latter four years as CEO, so he certainly knows his way around the comms and contact centre space. Naturally this means Mark Quartermaine has stepped down, following one year and four months in the CEO job (see Changes at BT Global Services).

Meanwhile another well-known UK SITS name, Jim McKenna (the former COO of Logica), will step down in March as Azzurri’s Chairman. His replacement is Keith Taylor. Three NEDs are departing too, while former 3i Director and private equity specialist Nigel Guy joins the board as the sole new NED.

With a significant new financing arrangement in place as well, this all adds up to something of a new era for Azzurri. We will find out a lot more about these changes when we talk to senior management in the company later today. And naturally we will bring eligible subscribers further details and analysis shortly after that.
