Digital Barriers’ raison d’être has been slowly refined as its acquisition tally has ramped up (see Digital breaks down international barriers). Today it has announced a small, bite-sized, acquisition that clearly supports its focus on providing advanced surveillance technology to the homeland security and defence sectors.
Importantly, the acquisition of LMV Electronics Limited (for £450K in cash on completion of the deal) brings with it a product set focused on advanced video capture and transmission technology; Digital Barriers will use the kit and intelligence acquired to help develop a simple proposition consisting of a ‘boxed-and-ready’, easily deployable range of products for Governments (as outlined at the time of the interim results). Digital Barriers is acquiring the complete product set and IP along with certain customer contracts. LMW will continue to provide certain manufacturing and repair services from its existing premises.
