Identity matters a lot to GB Group profit

Despite boasting one of the most toe-curling tag lines I have seen for a UK software and IT services firm (GB Group - because identity matters™), identity management specialists, GB Group, seems to be doing good business. The picture at the three-quarter mark (9 months to 31st Dec.) shows revenues up 13% to nearly £18m and adjusted operating profit more than doubling to £1.2m.

GB has an interesting mix of products and services which appear to extend into credit management and marketing services giant, Experian’s turf, which sounds a bit David and Goliath-ish to me, but there we go. They also recently shifted from the main market to AIM (see GB 'aims' for new identity).

And just before Xmas, GB joined up with UK-based BPO giant, Serco, and Microsoft to create an identity management offering for local authorities (ID card revisited??). Anyway, apparently the system has been implemented at London Borough of Enfield, where I assume the good citizens are now not just named but numbered!
