I’m sure it was only meant to be a throw-away line. But when Logica CEO Andy Green said words to the same the effect as, “I don't want to give first-half guidance – it’s hard enough giving guidance for the full year” in response to a question on margin outlook at yesterday’s investor briefing (see Logica profits hit by restructuring), he struck at what I think is at the very heart of Logica’s problem: it seems that management does not have sufficient operational insight into, and control over the core business.
