I get more feedback when I write about Apple than any other subject for some reason. Clearly amongst HotViews readers are a lot of Apple junkies.
Apple stock is going into the stratosphere. Last night they closed at $589 – it was only a month back I was remarking on them breaching the $500 level. Apple is up 46% in just over two months YTD.
Moody’s yesterday estimated that Apple’s cash pile might reach $150b by the end of the year – 10% of all US Corporate cash. What to do with it? What a wonderful problem to have!
Embarking on huge acquisitions (other than smaller strategic ones) is fraught with problems. So I think they should start paying a dividend. Of course, all that would do is force the shareprice even higher as many funds are currently prohibited from investing due to a lack of dividend stream. Although we don’t give share tips, a quick Google search will reveal many analysts forecasting “Apple good to $1000”.
