The enigma that is ‘brand extension’ company, Quindell Portfolio, just gets more and more intriguing (see Making head or tail of Quindell).
They have just acquired Enzyme International Limited, a curiously secretive outfit (well, I can’t find their website) “which works in the field of Personal Injury, with particular interest in pain detection, diagnostics and rehabilitation, with a view to reducing leakage in insurance claims resulting from fraud and inappropriate treatment strategies”. Enzyme Director (I assume managing) Robert Thomson will continue his work at Enzyme until November when he will then become Quindell’s Group Chief Revenue Officer (I thought that’s what the CFO is meant to do, but there we go).
The ‘family’ link alluded to in the title comes from Thomson’s times at The Innovation Group (TIG), firstly in 2001 when his then employer, Huon Corp., was acquired by TIG, and then again in 2010 as TIG UK MD. You may recall that Terry was a co-founder of TIG. The all-share deal values Enzyme at up to £2m.
As an aside, Quindell has also appointed ex-Royal Navy Vice Admiral Robert Cooling, and LBHeathcare MD (and Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, and Member of the Hampshire Police Authority), Sean Woodward, to its ‘Strategy and Integration Advisory Board’. The theme here (and in the link with Enzyme) is in rehabilitation services.
Well, the TIG alumini society gains another member, and the rest of us watch on in fascination.
