Given that Apple is the largest holding in my share portfolio, I have ‘noticed’ that it has declined 10% from $644 to $580 in the last four trading days. Google, too (which I have never held) was also down 7%. (For a more detailed review see Daily Telegraph)
Because Apple (and Google) are such a significant part of the NASDAQ it is not surprising that NASDAQ has fallen c4.3% since 26th Mar 12. Google’s share price decline is at least backed by ‘news’ – See Google and Oracle head to court . But ‘trading-wise’ both Apple and Google still seem to be in rude health. The P/E multiples of both are pretty much in line with the market. So maybe it is just profit taking. Afterall Apple is still up 43% in 2012 YTD.
