In case entrepreneur Ian Smith’s intentions relating to troubled mid-market software and managed services player, Maxima were not entirely clear (see More minimisation at Maxima), he has just put a big notice in the shop window about new contract wins in the managed services side of the business. Apparently Maxima has scored a slew of managed services deals ranging from some £0.5-2.7m with total contract value over £6m. The managed services mid-market is a great place to be for those who know how to play the game to turn a profit. But it needs dedicated focus, and that’s what seemed to be lacking at ‘old’ Maxima.
