Logicalis - the infrastructure services subsidiary of South African reselling giant DataTec - has made a modest acquisition in Australia. An announcement this morning says it’s buying Brisbane-based hosting and cloud provider Corpnet for a maximum of $3.3m.
We suspect this move has no impact at all on Logicalis’s business in the UK. Here, the emphasis has been on building out services organically, including a significant build programme for UK-based data centre capacity to support Logicalis’s planned services growth. The previous acquisition of any note had more to do with Logicalis’s drive to add Cognos-derived analytics capability on top of its managed infrastructure services (see Logicalis inks Inca buy from Avisen), a bold but potentially high-growth move if it can pull it off.
