Prolific acquirer Six Degrees Group added another string to its rapidly expanding bow earlier this week. This time the managed services provider has acquired data centre interconnection business Datahop, giving it an entrée to markets in continental Europe.

Penta Capital-backed Six Degrees states that Datahop will boost its revenue run rate to £44m and its EBITDA to £11m, suggesting it is delivering around £4m in revenue and £1m in EBITDA. That level of annual revenue begins to make you look like a player of scale in the fragmented mid-market supplier landscape.

This is Six Degrees’ tenth acquisition in a year and its third M&A announcement in just a week (see Six Degrees adds eighth and ninth degrees). We expect the company to take a break from M&A for a while and to focus on the significant tasks of integration and organic growth. Signs are it is doing well on both counts so far.
