EDP, the long established provider of software and services to the UK wholesale distribution industry is still paddling away and managed a creditable 5% increase in revenue (to £2.9m) for the six months to March 31 2012, despite operating in a tough market.
Profit before tax was £363,000 (vs £162,000, which excludes profit on the disposal of a freehold property) and it has cash of £5.2m on a debt-free balance sheet. Hosting revenues now represent 41% of total revenues (2011: 34%). Although they have not grown, contracted recurring revenue levels have been maintained at £2.2m (76% of total revenues).
The company has had a tough time over the last few years (see here) but persists and to its credit tries to move forward (e.g adopting in-house hosting).
