Liz Benison finally gets her official title

Though she’s been signing her emails as such since February, Liz Benison has finally been officially blessed as CSC’s new UK & Ireland President. Benison left Capgemini to join CSC as UK COO in January 2011 and took over as de facto UK President when Andy Williams disappeared without trace early this year. Williams had been less than two years in post, having joined CSC as president of Northern Europe business operations from well that known IT services firm, Alcatel-Lucent (see here). Williams replaced Nick Wilson, who now leads HP UK & Ireland (and who is probably muttering to himself something about frying pans and fire).

CSC resolutely refuses to acknowledge geographic boundaries – there is no ‘Europe’ for Benison to report to, nor even any ‘verticals’. So instead she reports to the COO – note, not the President – of CSC’s Managed Services Sector, Mike Shove. My goodness me, CSC’s new CEO, Mike Lawrie (of Misys fame), certainly has his work cut out, even just to get the organisation and reporting lines sorted! Perhaps he’s also muttering to himself …
