CGI’s £1.7b offer for Logica (see CGI/Logica - Can We Deliver and Be Brilliant Together? and work back) helped push last month’s aggregate value for European tech M&A deals to the highest level since July 2011, according to latest data from corporate finance firm Regent Partners (International). Deal volumes rose again to 259 transactions worth a total of $19b, though median price/earnings ratio eased to 15.3x. In contrast, median price/sales ratio increased to 1.1x, which might be interpreted as an increased focus on share gain over profit.
