After spending the past 12 years here in the UK, Sudhir Chaturvedi is moving to the US to run Infosys’ North America Banking sector business. Chaturvedi was one of the Infosys Europe start-up team back in 2000 when the region generated a mere $25m in revenues. Europe now accounts for over 20% of Infosys’ $7b revenues, with the UK alone generating over $800m.
Taking over the leadership of the UK operations is Srikanth Iyengar (pitcured), whose ‘day job’ includes driving Infosys’ global megadeal opportunities. Iyengar has been with Infosys for ten years.
Infosys UK grew in line with the rest of the company last FY (to 31st March 2012), breaking through the £500m barrier for the first time. Even if Infosys UK only grew in line with management’s rather muted forecast for FY 13 company revenue growth of 8-10% they would gain share, though I would expect some of its India-centric peers to grow even faster. And that is surely Srikanth Iyengar’s real challenge!
