Clik here to view. Two interesting announcements from mobile technology firm CSR caught our eye earlier this week. Firstly, the Cambridge-based company did a $310m deal with Samsung for part of its business. For that princely sum, the Korean giant is getting CSR’s handset connectivity and location development operations, including naturally a clutch of patents.
The second noteworthy development was the appointment of Chris Stone as a non-exec director at CSR. Many readers will of course remember Stone from his days at Northgate (see Chris Stone to leave Northgate). Given CSR’s positioning in hot areas of mobile tech, and this latest significant deal with Samsung, we can understand his interest.
