Leo’s services man leaves HP

logoJohn Visentin, the man that HP ex-CEO Leo Apotheker anointed to run the company’s global Enterprise Services (ES) operations almost a year ago to the day (see here), has left the business. He will be replaced on an acting basis by Mike Nefkens, who has been leading HP’s ES business in EMEA since Bill Thomas upped sticks in September 2009 (see here). Nefkens was an ex-EDS man, unlike Visentin whose heritage was with IBM prior to a stint running HP ES in the Americas. Nefkens will be backed up by Jean-Jacques (JJ) Charhon, who moves into the COO role for HP ES, having been its CFO prior.

Nefkens and Charhon have a real challenge arresting the decline in both revenues and profitability with the HP ES business (see HP cuts jobs but ducks real challenges). But given that HP ES is heavily based on the ‘old’ EDS business anyway, Nefkens knows what he is letting himself in for.
