Citrix has completed a tuck-in acquisition, bringing privately-held New Zealand-based Beetil into the fold. Beetil provides cloud based service desk technology which Citrix will use to expand the support capabilities of the Citrix GoToAssist solution, enabling it to provide a single platform for remote support, monitoring and service desk management for IT professionals and end users. Financial details were not disclosed. The GoTo cloud-based product line is one of Citrix’s growth areas (see Revenue rises but income still shaky at Citrix in Q2), so the acquisition makes good sense. It is not a significant acquisition but it adds additional capability that will help Citrix continue to take advantage of the market shift to cloud services, remote and mobile working.
