Vordel
I have been an early stage investor in Vordel (which has its HQ in London) since its inception in 1999 via my involvement as a general partner/investor in Elderstreet Capital Partners. ECP is in the final wind down stage for the fund – so I am delighted to report the sale today of Vordel to Axway - our penultimate investment. I can’t disclose the consideration (yet) but we are showing a very healthy, multiple return on our investment..

Vordel is an application gateway vendor whose products enable enterprise customers to deploy and manage high speed secure XML and SOA networks; delivering APIs for cloud and mobile. The advent of the cloud has really brought the need for these technologies to the fore as clients increasingly use hosted services. Vordel enterprise clients span banking, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, media, pharmaceuticals, telecoms and government. Seems like a good fit with Axway and its 11,000 clients in 100 countries for its range of technical solutions for business interaction. Axway (HQed in US and quoted on NYSE Euronext) was a spinout of French quoted SITS company, Sopra in 2011.
