Anite performed in line with expectations and delivered increased yoy revenue for the six months to October 31 2012 according today’s trading update, which is quite a feat given the strength in H1 last year when revenues soared 33% (see Anite soaring on wireless thermals). Adjusted operating profit was also up yoy.
Handset testing was again a good performer and delivered double digit revenue and profit growth against “exceptionally strong” comparatives from H1 last year, courtesy once more of handset testing and LTE products. Revenue was flat in the tougher area of network testing but the company managed to squeeze out additional profit. The travel unit was in line and experienced slightly better trading conditions. With small variations (particularly around network testing) this overview could apply to several of Anite’s recent periods. That is no bad thing however – it shows consistency of performance and with 4G still an immature area, and mobile adoption and trends like BYOT still swinging upwards, there is plenty of scope for further growth.
