Current revenue is negligible but growth potential is high although it needs to be tempered. Suppliers’ expectations will run ahead of reality unless a better case is made articulating the business value proposition and delivering proof points. That is a time-consuming operation so although Big Data growth will outperform the rest of the enterprise software market during 2013 and be well into double figures, it will not be as explosive as many would hope.
