New EMEA head for NTT DATA

There’s been a top management reshuffle in EMEA at NTT DATA, the IT services arm of Japanese telecoms giant, NTT. Current head Thomas Balgheim is handing over to Italian head Patrizio Mapelli, who came on board when NTT DATA acquired Value Team in June 2011 (see here).

NTT DATA is trying to knit together the various disparate pieces of its acquired businesses in EMEA into a cohesive whole. They appear to be making some progress in the UK (see NTT DATA seeing the ‘design light' from RMA) but how that will pan out for the rest of Europe is yet to be proven.
