Clik here to view. When we met with Agilisys’ Kay Andrews (Executive Director – Client Development) and Andrew Mindenhall (Business Development Director) in October last year, they told us about the Agilisys Digital Platform. Agilisys has spent 12-18 months developing a repeatable, productised, platform that provides a personalised digital experience for local authority residents. The platform had already been implemented at the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham where 12 transaction types had been put online. Agilisys has now launched the platform so that it can be used by more of its clients and future clients.
Now, Agilisys, which has primarily grown through organic development (and will continue to do so), has acquired a small software company – loGo.net – with the intention of integrating the technology into the Agilisys Digital Platform. According to Agilisys, loGo.net provides innovative software focused on transforming citizens’ online experience. It is already in use by many local authorities. As part of the acquisition loGO_net founder Ben Darlington has joined Agilisys has Head of Informatics and will continue to develop new modules for the software. Agilisys will also continue to offer the software on a standalone basis. Before founding loGO_net Darlington had been CIO for Essex County Council and Head of ICT Strategy & Architecture for Kent Council, so Agilisys also gains someone with significant local government experience.
The launch of Agilisys Digital, and the related acquisition of loGo_net, once again highlights the innovative approach that Agilisys takes to growing its business and giving it the edge over its competitors. Agilisys Digital plays right into the hands of the Government’s ‘channel shift’/’digital by default’ agenda, which is relevant across all areas of the UK public sector (i.e. not just local government). Another recent Agilisys’ development has been the launch of Agilisys Arch, a division focused on developing apprenticeship schemes and specialising in skills in demand in Agilsys’ business and the wider economy (digital comms, ICT, web development, customer service, contact centre and business administration). In our mind, this is also a smart move with public sector organisations often looking for suppliers to show a commitment to supporting the UK economy.
