Another small innovative UK software company has been snapped up by a US organisation. US-headquartered Viewpoint Construction Software has acquired project and BIM (Building Information Modeling) collaboration software provider 4Projects. The terms of the deal are undisclosed.
We identified 4Projects as a representative pioneer of the pure-play SaaS model in our report Software-as-a-Service: Assessing UK companies’ cloud capability; highlighting such ‘pioneers’ as proof that the UK was capable of producing viable and competitive SaaS pure-plays from start-up.
4Projects software provides multiple project stakeholders the tools to collaborate construction and pre-construction documents. It has 61 employees and 40K unique monthly users of its SaaS solution. According to Viewpoint, the 4Projects office in the UK will remain open and “the current philosophy is business as usual”. 4Projects product portfolio will become available to Viewpoint’s existing markets in the US, Canada and Australia.
