The anger over Marissa Mayer’s ban on home-working at Yahoo is gathering pace. As I said in my 25th Feb post, Working from home is at the heart of TechMarketView. We have great Research Directors because they can fit their work in with their family commitments. The arrangement is win-win. Yahoo’s move is a step backwards.

Some suggest that Marissa Mayer could be more sympathetic to those with young families: the former Google executive had a baby boy herself in September, although she returned to work two weeks later.
All Things D, a technology blog, points out that Ms Mayer has made unique arrangements for her own progeny: she paid to have a nursery built into her office — hardly an option open to typical software toilers on Yahoo!’s shop floor.
“I wonder what would happen if my wife brought our kids and nanny to work and set ’em up in the cube next door?” the husband of one Yahoo! employee asked blogger Kara Swisher.
