I’m old enough to remember rationing, see a Coronation, attend a Beatles concert, witness England winning the World Cup and see a man walk on the moon BUT I’ve never seen a British man win Wimbledon! To say today's match was nail-biting is an understatement. Well done Andy Murray.
It’s worth a comment on HotViews without any tech reference. But I must say that the whole experience was greatly enhanced by sharing it all with my friends on Facebook and Twitter. Also the technical wizardry behind those line calls is to be applauded.
Maybe the biggest beneficiary though is to a national ‘feel good’ factor. We certainly got that with the Olympics last year. A feeling that if you try hard enough, you really can conquer the world. I get a sense that there is a renaissance in that kind of positive thinking within UK tech as well. (See my other post today – Shazam valued at $400m in latest investment)
