Apple has sent out invites for the widely anticipated launch event on Tuesday 10th Sept. The colourful invite is rumoured to presage the launch of a new low cost iPhone to be available in a variety of bright colours (lime green amongst them). Likely cost c$200. A new regular priced iPhone in champagne is also rumoured. They will all feature the upgrade in the ‘look and feel’ as a result of Jonathan Ive’s takeover of the software design brief.
Just to prove how flippant the world of tech has become, Google today also announced that its next version of Android will be KitKat (takes over from Ice Cream Sandwich, Jellybean etc.) Google has done a marketing deal with Nestle whereby you might win an Android tablet in a Willy Wonka style competition if you buy special KitKat bars.
So, there you have it, the future of tech is brightly coloured and tastes of chocolate.
