There was the usual seasonal decline in M&A activity in the European tech sector in August, both in deal volumes and value, according to latest data from corporate finance firm Regent Partners. However, valuation multiples recovered slightly during the month.
It was quiet in the UK, with activity typified by ‘tuck-in’ acquisitions made by video search platform provider blinkx (see blinkx reaching for bigger audience with Grab Media), mid-market software and IT services stalwart Sanderson (see Sanderson builds out in ecommerce), and CAD evergreen Autodesk (see Autodesk snaps up UK BIM specialists).
