While much of the glory has so far gone to ‘black cab’ booking service Hailo, investor attention has also turned to minicabs, with the news that Octopus Investments has led a £3.8m Series A funding round for London minicab booking service Kabbee. This follows a $3.25m funding round in October 2012 led by Samos Investments. And according to the excellent TechCrunch, Kabbee competitor Minicabster (previously known as Anycabs) recently raised £2m in funding. One wonders how many taxi booking apps we really need, and undoubtedly we will find the answer when the market decides.
