HP logoHP Enterprise Services has won a significant framework contract in Northern Ireland, with the potential to be worth £100m over its life. It has been awarded the Technology Partnership Agreement 2013 by the NI Business Services Organisation (BSO). BSO provides regional business support and professional services to health and social care organisations. HP will be responsible for the delivery and support of regional ICT projects by the full range of health and social care organisations across Northern Ireland, including all Health & Social Care Trusts. BSO has been in the process of implementing a Business Services Transformation (BSTP) project with shared services at its heart.

HP has been investing in Northern Ireland over the last few years. Towards the end of 2012, for example, it announced investment in new office premises in Belfast city centre designed to strengthen its business in the region and facilitate the completion of its regional job creation project. In addition, the company already works with health and social care organisations; under a €78m contract let in 2009 by NI’s Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety, HP has updated the technology behind the country’s hospital patient administration systems.

Earlier this month, Fujitsu announced further investment in Northern Ireland - see Fujitsu creates more jobs in Northern Ireland. For more on the activities of the leading SITS suppliers in regional Government, see the PublicSectorViews report, UK local government SITS supplier landscape 2013-14.
