EMC has appointed Simon Walsh as COO for the EMEA region. He will take responsibility for the development of the company’s go-to-market strategy and workforce across the region. He will report to Adrian McDonald, EMC’s EMEA President.
Walsh joins from Colt (see Colt replaces Enterprise Services leadership) where he was Executive Vice President and Member of the Executive Committee with responsibility for the Pan-European Enterprise Division. He joined Colt in February 2011 from Computacenter, where he was UK MD and played an instrumental role in growing the services business.
The appointment is interesting timing given that EMC has recently announced its new Business Partner Programme – the replacement for its Velocity channel partner scheme. We hope to catch up with Walsh soon to learn more about his plans as COO.
