HP’s drubbing on the markets following its hastily released Q2 results, and trimmed revenue and profits outlook (see No more miracle margins at HP), has left us with one big question – how is new CEO Leo Apotheker going to deliver higher value services in the cloud? We see cloud as more of a deflationary model than anything else, which does away with existing multi-year relationships, certainty on revenues, and which makes competition greater and supplier replacement far easier.
