Europe loomed large in high profile tech M&A deals last month, according to the latest data from our friends at Regent. The list was led of course by Microsoft’s $8.5b acquisition of Skype (see here), though much further down the scale, but arguably as high profile, was the $40m that Twitter dished out to buy London-based Tweetdeck (see here). The UK was also represented in a number of other deals, including Civica’s acquisition of financial services software firm, PSCAL (see here) and Logica’s of Spanish consultancy and professional services outfit, Grupo Gesfor (see here).
Regent CEO, James Calvert, noted that valuations continued their rise for the fourth consecutive month, broadly in line with the FTSE TechMARK index. There’ll be more on the UK software and IT services M&A scene in the next edition of TechMarketView IndustryViews M&A.
