Having ‘listened and learnt’, the Government confirmed today that it will make changes to its controversial plans for the modernisation of health and social care. From what we’ve seen, the government’s response to yesterday’s findings by the NHS Future Forum doesn’t contain any real surprises. It accepts the proposals put forward by the NHS Future Forum, toning down the government’s ambitions in areas such as competition and the timetable for reform.
Nevertheless, the detail in the reports has implications for SITS providers – including opportunities in areas such as the closer integration of health and social care and evidence based commissioning.
