It could soon be all change for telecoms group Cable & Wireless Worldwide. According to the FT (see here), C&W is in discussions to sell off its remaining international businesses to Pacnet, a telecoms provider based out of Hong Kong and Singapore, for $500m. As HotViews readers will know, C&W is also rumoured to be in discussions to acquire UK-based IT services provider 2e2 (see Will 2e2 get ‘cabled up’?), which has now built up a £300m+ business in the UK (see 2e2 makes three (propositions)). It will be interesting to see how this latest development progresses, and whether C&W’s future is indeed destined to be only in the UK.
