As we said a few months ago (see Alterian will ‘sort it’), Keith Hamill, chairman of marketing software vendor, Alterian, had much to ‘sort’ with the troubled company, after multiple profit warnings led to the exit of its founding CEO. Well, he’s done the double and not only found a new CEO, in the guise of one Heath Davies, but also replaced himself, with industry veteran Phil Cartmell as non-exec chairman.
I don’t think I know of Davies, but he was joint-CEO at French software and IT services firm Sword until last year. Cartmell, on the other hand, is well known in the industry, having been at various players, including a long stint as CEO at Vega. He’s currently exec chairman at oil and gas technology firm, Corac, and NED at Malaysian-based (but LSE listed) data centre player, CSF.
I will be speaking with Heath Davies later this morning. The new team have much work to do!
