The Israeli connection

Qualitest logoWhile UKHotViews readers know well enough how much I like to wax lyrical about Brazil (see Brazil – Opportunity for some!), it’s not the only market that’s really buzzing.

I caught up again this week with Daniel Goldman, founding chairman of Israeli fund and asset management company, Goldrock Investments. If the name is familiar, it’s perhaps because Goldman, now based in Israel, is the son of Sage late founder, David. Goldman may also be familiar to UKHotViews readers as he is also chairman of AIM-listed document management software provider Invu (see Invu heading in the right direction).

Goldman wanted me to meet Ayal Zylberman, President of Israel-based, but internationally operating testing services company, Qualitest. It was indeed a very interesting conversation, as Qualitest’s USP is that it is entirely onshore, yet it beats the usual offshore-heavy suspects in many engagements. And, yes, it is profitable.

Testing services is a very fragmented market. Although the received wisdom is that offshore-heavy players have the advantage (which has indeed been my view to date), it appears that there is room for specialist firms that do things differently.
