But who cares, so it seems? Operating losses at SaaS ERP player, Netsuite, continue to mount, fast approaching $10m in Q2 (to 30th June) against revenues of $58m, which were 23% higher yoy and 8% higher qoq. That’s a -16.2% operating margin, a new low for at least the prior 4 quarters. Netsuite has held R&D steady at 10% of revenues (trailing Salesforce.com at 13%), but boosted sales & Marketing to 53% of revenues (Q2 10: 46%), just below Salesforce’s 50% - whose 3 point yoy increase in S&M helped wipe out profits last quarter. Maybe I am missing the point, but aren’t we actually meant to make money out of this cloud malarkey?
