Atos Origin has won a handy – and significantly larger – extension to its £10m, 5-year IT outsourcing deal with transport operator, FirstGroup, signed last Sepetmber. The new deal, does much the same with FirstGroup’s US business, and is worth $30m also over 5 years.
Atos UK CEO, Keith Wilman, told me that the travel sector was proving fruitful for Atos, as it spreads into the hospitality industry with similar self-service propositions. But the star performer in Atos UK was HTTS (transaction processing) where revenues grew by over 40% in 2010, albeit helped along by the acquisition of Guildford-based turnkey ticketing systems firm, Shere (see Atos finds Shere is just the ticket!). Wilman echoed Atos group-wide expectation of organic growth and margin expansion for the UK business in 2011.
