SIS Q3 points to challenge for Atos UK

Clik here to view.The final set of figures for Siemens IT Solutions and Services reveal the extent of the challenge facing Atos, its new home. The Q3 numbers, which have undoubtedly  been adversely affected by the acquisition, show a 7% decline in overall revenue compared to the same period last year to €969m. UK revenues dropped just slightly to €137m (Q3 2010: €138m). But the UK fared particularly badly in terms of new orders, which were down 20% on the same period last year at €125m. Over all, new orders were down 6.5% to €929m. The deteriorating performance in the UK contrasts with the picture revealed by Atos’ H1 results where the UK was the best performing region with 3% growth (see Atos H1: UK outperforms other geographies). Integrating the two businesses and keeping the UK on track is clearly going to be a significant challenge for Atos in the months ahead.
