HCL dragged into phone-hacking scandal

The media is ablaze with stories that fifth-ranked India-based IT/BP services firm HCL had been asked by News International to delete swathes of emails over the past 15 months. HCL has issued a statement saying that it “continues to co-operate with the Metropolitan Police and the Home Affairs Select Committee in their investigations and has responded to all requests for information and clarification received to date.” You can see their lawyer’s response to Keith Vaz, chairman of the Home Affairs Commmittee, here.
