Still very much in the ‘nits and lice’ category, support services firm Mouchel – for whom the word ‘troubled’ seems so wholly inadequate – has now disposed of its pipeline design business to engineering services firm Mott MacDonald for a maximum £3.4m cash. This follows last week’s disposal of its rail support services business (see here). The pipeline design business turned over £4.7m in the year to July 2010 and was borderline profitable (Mouchel has delayed the announcement of its FY11 results till the end of November). Clip, clip, clip. But what management really needs to use are the shears.
