Ambitious Lumison adds a Chairman

LumisonMid-market managed services provider Lumison has appointed a non-Exec chairman, Pieter Knook.

Knook is no doubt familiar to some readers thanks to his time at Vodafone (running Internet Services) and before that Microsoft. During 18 years at the software giant he was, among other things, VP of Asia Pacific and latterly SVP for the mobile and comms sector globally.

Knook is clearly a serious player with experience at the highest levels of two of the world’s biggest tech firms. He no doubt has plenty of friends in high places. So it’s something of a coup for a relatively small (£27.5m in revenues at the last count), privately-held UK firm to secure him as Chairman. All of which underlines the ambition of Lumison, which has also of course made two noteworthy acquisitions this year (see Lumison adds third leg to managed services stool). Clearly CEO Mark Howling (of Digica/Computacenter renown, see Howling back in business with Lumison) believes there’s an opportunity to stand out in the highly-fragmented supplier landscape for mid-market managed services.
