Hot on the heels of its second sizable acquisition of the year (see Growing Blinkx expands again), UK-based video search engine provider Blinkx has released half year results whose upward trajectory makes its acquisitions ever more affordable.
Revenue was up 63% to £44.6m while adjusted profit from operations surged 96% to £4.9m for the six months to September 30 2011. Non-adjusted operations profit was a more modest £1.4m. With £52.9m cash in the bank is has leverage for further acquisitions. With fingers in multiple pies (including search, content, distribution, advertising networks, and nascent Internet TV), and interest in video rapidly rising (double digit growth is forecast over the next five years) Blinkx is in a good place and apparently looking to expand rapidly to maximize its coverage.
