The UK construction sector is taking an ever more active interest in ‘support services’ and its sub-set business process services (BPS). Support services is a broad-based market that includes facilities, security, property and highways management services – and related BPS activities such as HR, F&A, customer services, procurement and ICT.
Multi-billion pounds construction players like Balfour Beatty, Interserve, Carrillion, Costain and Kier are looking to grow support services and BPS capability both organically and through acquisition, as a means to diversify from a core UK construction market in deep decline.
