Although the biggest European tech M&A deal to end the year came from the telecom sector, there was a flurry of bid activity for UK quoted companies, including Workplace Systems, Patsystems and Alterian. Latest data from Regent for December 2011 saw a ‘strong’ end to the year for technology M&A, with deal volumes returning to levels set in September and October after a 20% drop in November. Valuation multiples remained broadly stable.
