I’m sure every HotViews reader knows of my long-term involvement with the Prince’s Trust which helps disadvantaged young people regain their confidence and thereby get back into employment, education and training. Indeed a very significant number of TechMarketView’s clients and HotViews readers are also supporters (probably a link here!)
The Trust encourages employee fund raising but much of this has been via sporty related activities. I’ve been very keen to encourage non sports related employee fundraising too and Million Makers has been particularly successful here. So I am just delighted that Atos last week was crowned the 2012 winners of the Prince’s Trust Million Makers Challenge. Not just ’winners’ but they busted every previous record. Atos’ teams raised an incredible £123,799.64. That is the highest amount ever raised since the challenge was introduced. Indeed that’s twice last year’s winner. This helped Million Makers exceed the £1m raised in 2012 – for the first time.
The Atos team organised all kinds of activities including a ‘Sporting Chance’ dinner and auction at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
Ursula Morgenstern, CEO, Atos UK and Ireland said: “I am extremely proud that our company has been able to make such a huge contribution to The Prince’s Trust, and the young people it touches across the UK. The team did a fantastic job and were totally committed to the competition. Our involvement in the Million Makers Challenge supports our Well Being at Work initiative, where we are constantly thinking of new and innovative ways which encourage our staff to develop and enhance their career with us.”
Big Well Done to Atos. If any other companies are interested in Million Makers, please let me know.
