Public sector software and services provider Civica has outperformed the broader UK public sector by some way in its year ended 30 September. UK revenue was up 8% to £127.8m, with organic UK growth at 7% vs. -4.1% we estimate for the broader public sector SITS market in 2011. Overall headline revenue for the group (including international operations) was up 8% to £182.7m.
This is a pretty good effort, and highlights Civica’s sweet spot in providing IP-led services to local authorities, and other locally delivered organisations such as the police, social care and social housing. It is also fast using this IP to move forwards with a platform-based business process services (BPS) strategy (see Civica delivers platform-based BPS at Gloucester Council). It is also boosting its credentials in pure IT outsourcing too (see Civica bags ICT outsourcing deal at Luton). So it is definitely one to watch.
We will have more colour and movement on Civica’s results in Hot Views Extra on Monday.
