CSC admits to ‘intentional’ NHS accounting errors

Liz Benson, ‘new’ UK & Ireland President at beleaguered CSC (see Liz Benison finally gets her official title), must wonder whether she has been handed a poisoned chalice. A report in yesterday’s Times suggests that CSC knowingly exaggerated the revenues it derived from the disastrous NHS IT project by $24m. Certain finance staff have been suspended pending possible disciplinary action.

For CSC, the NHS deal must seem like death by a thousand cuts. It was yet again a major factor contributing to CSC’s recent poor FY results (see CSC blames NHS for dismal results) and, with an HMRC investigation apparently underway, it seems that the saga will continue to run and run.
